    Meet the team!

Our Engineering team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the systems and technologies that drive Unifonic’s solutions. We work closely with other departments to ensure our products and services meet the needs of our customers. If you are passionate about technology and excited about leading teams to deliver cutting-edge communication and engagement solutions, we want you on our team.

As a Production Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the production environment’s operations at Unifonic. This vital leadership role will direct dynamic teams including techops, SRE/platform, and on-call engineers—focused on building and maintaining secure, scalable, and robust infrastructure platforms.

Your guidance will be instrumental in strengthening reliability, security, and operational excellence across the company.

Beyond technical oversight, this role demands active engagement with both internal and external stakeholders. You will participate in interactions with customers and government regulatory bodies as part of audits, ensuring transparency and compliance. Additionally, you will collaborate with SMS and carrier operations teams to manage vendor relationships, enabling smooth operational workflows and consistent service quality.

Help us shape the future of communication by:

    • Architecting, implementing, and administering secure, scalable cloud infrastructure.

    • Enforcing security best practices to satisfy internal and industry benchmarks.

    • Supervising IAM, network segmentation, and system hardening initiatives.

    • Collaborating with Security and on-call teams for proactive incident management.

    • Managing the deployment and scaling of multi-environment Kubernetes clusters.

    • Maintaining critical platform services: Ingress, VPN, Logging, and Monitoring.

    • Ensuring high availability and performance of application runtimes.

    • Developing automation and self-service tools to streamline Kubernetes usage for developers.

    • Overseeing lifecycle management of MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Cassandra, Vertica, and message brokers.

    • Standardizing and automating provisioning, scaling, and maintenance processes for all services.

    • Documenting operational practices, backup routines, and recovery plans.

    • Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing cloud platform, sre, on-call, and tech ops teams.

    • Aligning platform objectives with business strategies via interdepartmental collaboration.

    • Staying at the forefront of cloud innovation for continuous platform improvement.

    • Promoting thorough documentation and transparent knowledge sharing.

    Job requirements

    What you'll bring:

    • 10+ years of hands-on experience in cloud, platform, or infrastructure engineering roles.

    • At least 3 years of managing cloud or platform engineering teams.

    • Demonstrated expertise with Kubernetes and cloud-native application management in production environments.

    • Previous experience managing a high transactional production environment.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)

    • Strong knowledge of ITIL

    • Practical background in the SMS industry would be a plus

    • Direct experience with voice communications would be a plus

    • Familiarity with artificial intelligence concepts or prior hands-on experience

    • Deep knowledge of major cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP).

    • Hands-on with Kubernetes, Helm, Operators, and Service Mesh.

    • Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform).

    • Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Cassandra, and related services.

    • Expertise in cloud security, IAM, network protection, and system hardening.

    • Familiarity with CI/CD and productivity optimization tools.

    • Exceptional leadership, teamwork, and communication capabilities.

    • Proven ability to align technical direction with business outcomes and lead cross-functional initiatives.

    • Insight into cloud security compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).
